ACTCOMSS, initially established as the Ashanti Catholic Teachers' Support Scheme (ACT Support Scheme) in 2005, was created to address the financial and social support needs of Catholic teachers in the Ashanti region of Ghana. The founding members recognized the importance of a structured support system to enhance the welfare of teachers, fostering a sense of community and mutual aid. The founding member, to mention a few are as follows;
1.Dave Anane Druye (The regional manager Ashanti, at that time, who became the general manager 1.for Catholic schools Ghana.)
2.Polycarp Assafuah (The deputy regional manager)
3.Kofi Owusu Doodu (The Obuase Diocese supervisor of schools)
4.Martin Kingsley Antwi (Kumasi Arch-Diocese supervisor of schools)
5.Daniel Okine Offei (Statistics Officer, Catholic Edu. Unit)
6.Mr. Oteng Darkwah (The accountant)
BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE SCHEME:
The first Board of Directors of the scheme was chaired by Mr. Kofi Owusu Doodu, followed by Miss Agnes Adu-Boaheng, The Late Benjamin Agyei Twum, George Kwadwo Tuffuor, Mohammed Alhasan and the current Board chairman/President is now Peter Sula.THE MANAGEMENT:
Mr. Gabriel Gyamfi Agyare was appointed by the Board as the first manager since 2005 and still the manager of ACTCOMSS.
